In the spring of 2004 God began dealing with Jordan and Melissa about pioneering a new church in the Chicago area.  Even though they didn’t know anyone there at the time, after visiting the area and praying about what to do, they decided to move to Oswego, Illinois in order to start a new church.   They arrived in Illinois in July of that year and then in November began what was at that time called Chicagoland Family Church, Inc.  They started meeting every Sunday morning, holding services with a small group in a rented school facility. Since that time, they have seen God’s faithfulness and have been moving forward, step by step, into the plan of God as a local church.

Then, in the fall of 2006, the church began holding services at their current location on Rt. 34 in Oswego.  In the beginning of 2011 the name of the church was changed from Chicagoland Family Church to Oswego Family Church.  Pastor Jordan believes that the name change is significant and that it will help the church connect more with the community in addition to making it much easier for people in the surrounding communities to locate the church.  Although the name of the church has changed, the vision of the church continues to be one of impacting many lives throughout the Chicagoland area with the Word of God.
